False Accusations About Dr. Dale Broome

He has no children in RUSD schools and should be disqualified from being a school board trustee.

My two adult daughters attended RUSD schools. Very few parents of school-age children have the time or energy to run for and serve on the school board. In fact, most school board members have already raised their children and are trying to preserve and improve our schools for the future generations. And that is why I am running - to improve our public schools for my grandkids and future generations.

He gave $400K to a ballot initiative to destroy public schools.

Yes, I contributed $400K as a major donor to the 2021 School Choice ballot initiative - because I believe that parents should be able to use their child’s share of state education dollars to send them to the school of their choice including private, public, charter or homeschool. Numerous studies have shown that everywhere that School Choice has been implemented, public education has not been destroyed, but rather improved. Public schools have to compete with private schools to earn the support of parents and enrollment of students.

Over 33 states have implemented School Choice programs, and it will eventually pass in California. If we don’t start raising the standards and educational outcomes in our public education now, they won’t be able to compete when School Choice arrives.

He harassed a local Muslims leader in 2016.

Two radical Muslims killed 14 and wounded 24 individuals on Dec 2, 2015 in the Inland Regional Center San Bernardino terrorist attack. The terrorists lived in Redlands a few blocks from Dr. Mohammad Hossain’s office. Their home was found to be filled with extensive munitions and weapons - that could have blown up the entire block. In January, 2026 I approached Dr. Hossain, a leader in the local Redlands mosque, to confirm that this couple had no connection with their mosque. I emphasized the need to reassure the public that their mosque was taking active measures to watch for and report suspicious terrorists or terrorist activities and prevent the radicalization of Muslims in their mosque. By signing a pledge to the community, such as one I presented to him, it would significantly improve their mosque’s reputation and public relations in our community and minimize the risk of another radical Muslim attack.

Since 2015 a number of Islamic societies and mosques in various cities, working with local law enforcement, have implemented such measures for precisely the same reasons.

I have worked with numerous Muslim doctors and nurses throughout my career and have treated them with the utmost respect and collegiality.

He is an extremist book-banner.

I have submitted complaints to RUSD Administration about a number of library books with sexually-graphic images and texts in our school libraries. They contained graphic descriptions of incest, pedophilia, rape, sexual intercourse, and homosexual acts. One book in a middle school had 60 full-frontal nude graphic images and 6 images of couples having sexual intercourse. One high school book had images of teens performing oral sex. The Board and Administration removed 4 books from the middle schools and 3 books from the high schools

There is nothing extreme about keeping pornography out of the hands of children. That is common sense, good parenting and perfectly legal.

He hates LGBTQ students and wants to discriminate against them or have them removed from our schools.

I do not hate LGBTQ students or have any intention to discriminate against them or remove them from the schools. I don’t believe that our schools should be promoting a sexual or social agendas or showing favoritism toward one group of students over another. That is why I am opposed to DEI policies. I also supported the recently-passed RUSD Flag Policy because certain teachers were using flags to promote their sexual and social agendas to students.

Although students have freedom of speech, public employee such as teachers do not have complete freedom of speech while on the job. They should remain neutral toward sexual, social and political agendas in the classrooms.

He has no experience in education.

I spent 20 years in academic medicine, approximately half of my career, at 3 medical schools - Indiana University, Baylor College of Medicine and Loma Linda University rising to the level of Associate Professor. Along with my clinical responsibilities, I prepared lectures, organized courses, sat on education committees, taught and evaluated residents, medical students, PA students and Rad Tech students. I was the recipient of several teaching awards and published a number of peer-review scientific articles.
